Place Gardens
Wakehurst
Place is leased from the National Trust as an addition to the Royal
Botanic Gardens, Kew and is the National Trust’s most visited
garden and home to the millenium seed bank. The Gardens contain a fine
collection of trees and shrubs. Part of the Elizabethan mansion,
containing various Exhibition rooms.
There
are tea rooms and a gift shop.
Open
all week throughout the year.
Standen
A
large family house of the 1890’s designed by Philip Webb, a
friend of William Morris. The remarkably complete interior has been
carefully restored. William Morris textiles and wall papers, furniture,
pottery and pictures of the period. Hillside garden. Shop and tearoom
open during season. Open April to October.
Bluebell

Famous
vintage engines and coaches run through 5 miles of glorious Wealden
Sussex scenery between Sheffield Park and Horsted Keynes. At Sheffield
Park station there is a museum of historic relics; refreshments
available.

all year. Pleasant walks, picnic area and sailing club with boats to
hire and sailing courses.
