About
Planning Applications
During
the year, the Parish Council considers around 45-50 Planing
applications submitted by local residents and businesses. The Mid
Sussex District Council asks Turners Hill Parish Council for their
comments concerning local planning applications and takes our comments
into account when reaching a decision. It is rare for our opinions to
differ, but occasionally Planning Law can dictate a decision which is
not necessarily in line with the council view. We can take
into account the effect on neighbours, the village, traffic flow,
suitability of the design and materials to be used, the conservation
area and High Weald Area of Outstanding Beauty. The parish council
takes great care and responsibility in commenting on planning
applications. Members of the public may come along to a Council meeting
and express their views at the start of the meeting in
“public time”.
